Long Family Woodworks is a family run custom wood gift and decor business. Each item is handmade by our wonderful craftsman Robbie.

Robbie began his journey into custom woodwork in 2019. Through the years he has grown both in skill and his love for the craft. Working weekly to develop new and unique gifts and home decor for you and your loved ones.

About Robbie

Growing up in North Florida, Robbie learned to be resourceful as a young kid. Roaming the woods, playing in creeks and rivers. He moved to South Florida with his mom and sister in 1992, and began working full time in 1996, at age sixteen. He’s been working full time ever since.

In 1998 he met his wife and they soon started their family. They had three kids in South Florida and moved to North Texas in 2008.

After working for so many years, Robbie needed an outlet and in 2019 he began learning woodworking. He was already handy having worked in the trades for his whole life. In 2020, when the world shut down, Robbie began to hone and polish his skills. He is now proficient with his tools. The lathe is one of his favorites. Watching that square block turn into something special, with dips and curves that rival a winding road on a motorcycle, is mesmerizing. It’s his favorite way to wind down after a long day.

About the Family

Katie, the wife, was born and raised in Southeastern Michigan and moved to South Florida in 1995. After graduating High School in 1998 she began working for Big Lots as a cashier. That’s where she and Robbie met.

In 2000 they had their first child, Destiny. Their second girl, Serenity, was born in 2003. After her birth they finally got married. In 2004 their oldest boy, Richard (named after his dad) came along. William was born in 2009, one year after they moved to Texas.

In 2024 Robbie and Katie became grandparents to the most Amazing little boy followed by the sweetest girl in 2026. They couldn’t be more proud.
